FIFA 22, the latest instalment in EA Sports' burgeoning football gaming franchise, finally has a launch date - and you can pre-order it right now.
It took a while before the official release date was known, however, gamers can now get themselves poised and ready to bag themselves a copy of FIFA 22 ahead of its unveiling in October later this year.
And for those impatient gamers, EA are, once again, giving players the chance to play the game four days early by pre-ordering the Ultimate Edition, but when do you need to do it by?
EA dropped the official FIFA 22 reveal trailer just hours ahead of England’s defeat to Italy in the Euro 2020 final in July.

When is the FIFA 22 release date?
FIFA 22 is set for a worldwide release on Friday, 1 October for PC, PS4, PS5 Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Google Stadia and Nintendo Switch.
How to pre-order FIFA 22
For the first time since the launch of FIFA 15, there are only two editions available - the Standard and Ultimate editions.

If you pre-order the latter, you can start playing the game from Monday, 27 September.
Gamers who pre-order the standard edition will be able to play from its worldwide release date on 1 October.
Another deciding factor between ordering the standard or ultimate edition is that on PS4 or Xbox One, you’ll be unable to upgrade to the next-gen version of the game for free with the standard edition.
