Who You Should Get In Your Fantasy Football Team This Week

Play your wild card and get them all...

It's at that time of the season when you've either totally forgotten about your fantasy football or you're so obsessed with beating your mates that Friday night and Saturday morning is a long look at your detailed spreadsheet to decide who transfer in and out of your team. If you do need some help we're here for you.

It can be a difficult task working out who you need to put into your fantasy team every week. Never mind trying to work out who to make captain, vice captain and if you should play any of the extra bonuses. What if it's got so bad that you have to play your wild card?

Well to take a bit of the stress out of it all we've taken a look at the fixtures and picked three players from each position that you should get into your team this week, we're nice like that!

Goalkeepers:

David de Gea: This season picking goalkeepers and defenders seems almost impossible. No one seems able to defend apart from Spurs and they aren't keeping a clean sheet this week. De Gea is in with a chance of keeping it to nil with United improving and Stoke City looking really poor. Mark Hughes side have only scored four goals in the league this season.

Heurelho Gomes: The match between Watford and Bournemouth is a tight one to call and it could easily be a 0-0 draw or 1-0 win to either side. Simply for being the home team I'm going for Gomes ahead of Artur Boruc. Bournemouth have only scored four in the league whilst Watford's 10 make them more likely victors.

Ben Foster: Oooh Sunderland vs West Brom exciting stuff! No, this one does not set the hearts racing! David Moyes side have only scored five and West Brom have only got seven. It looks like it could be a 0-0 draw with neither side scoring many and the visitors don't concede too often either.

Defenders:

Daley Blind: With Stoke not scoring many it does make sense to double up the Manchester United players at the back. Pair Blind up with De Gea because the Dutchman is on corners and with Stoke can't defend them with the more stringent marking rules going against them. The former Ajax man got two assists last week and could get more this weekend.

Gareth McAuley: Again like his goalkeeper he's unlikely to concede this weekend and on top of that the Northern Irishman loves a goal every now and again. With Sunderland's inability to keep clean sheets there's a good chance WBA will score. You could go for Rondon but McAuley all but guarantees you six points.

Nathaniel Clyne: Liverpool face Swansea this week and the Swans aren't up to much at the moment. Only one point above the relegation zone they've shipped 10 and only scored five goals. Clyne has also put on 31 chances for his team mates so soon as someone starts taking them he'll be right among the assists.

Midfielders:

James Milner: Okay so this one is a bit of a cop out. Milner is of course down as a midfielder but at the moment he's masquerading as a defender for Jurgen Klopp's team. Funnily enough he's also made a similar amount of chances as Clyne and he also takes the Reds' penalties and almost always scores them too.

Alexis Sanchez: Admittedly part of me can see Arsenal losing 1-0. It's Wenger's 20th anniversary and they've just butchered Chelsea and got a good win over Basel in match they'd often lose. That's all ingredients for an Arsenal loss but we'll ignore that for now. Sanchez is playing up front at the moment and has three goals in the last two league games. If the Gunners don't Wenger it up then he'll get more this weekend.

Robert Snodgrass: At just £5.7 million the Hull midfielder is a bit of a steal. He's scored three in his last six games. Sure Hull are playing Chelsea and they might not win but you wouldn't bet on the Blues keeping a clean sheet right now. Snodgrass has a habit of popping up with free kicks too.

Forwards:

Sergio Aguero: If you don't already have the Manchester City striker in your team I don't know if we can do anything to help you. But in case you've got a spare £13 million going then it's time to get the Argentine in. Five goals in his last three 90 minute matches and nine in eight against Spurs, who City play at the weekend, make him a must have.

Charlie Austin: At just £6.3 million Austin is a bargain. He's got two in two for Southampton and also picked up an assist last week in the process. The Saints do play Leicester away but the Foxes look very fallible in the league and Austin is good at set pieces as well as in open play.

Islam Slimani: Sure Claudio Ranieri's team aren't guaranteed winners like they were last season but their home record is still looking good in recent weeks. They beat Swansea and Burnley in their last two home league games as well as the Champions League win over Porto this week. Still managed two goals in an EFL Cup loss to Chelsea as well. Slimani has started well and bagged two against Burnley.

So who will you be putting in your fantasy team this week?
