Spurs Fan Travelled 4,000 Miles In 31 Hour Journey Only For Burnley Game To Be Called Off

Spurs Fan Travelled 4,000 Miles In 31 Hour Journey Only For Burnley Game To Be Called Off

A Tottenham Hotspur fan travelled from Dallas, Texas, but the game at Turf Moor was called off due to snow.

A Spurs fan and his other half travelled over 4,000 miles in a 31 hour journey to watch his team away away at Burnley - only for the game to be called off.

The game was set to take place at Turf Moor at 2pm on Sunday and though the ground staff did their best, officials came to the decision to postpone the game - despite Burnley boss Sean Dyche laughing off the snow in his shirt and tie.

And it was absolute heartbreak for a staunch Spurs supporter who lives in the United States.

Twitter user @SaxyKeN17 embarked on a 4,600 miles journey from Dallas to London and then Burnley in order to see his team in the flesh.

His tweet, posted prior to the game, has gone viral on Twitter.

He had been enjoying the Burnley scenery and braving the blizzard beforehand but still had a right good time at the pub when the match was abandoned.

You really have to feel for the fella and his partner. The fan remains in good spirits, however, and has received plenty of support from fellow supporters.

In fact, one even offered him their ticket for the game against Brentford on Thursday. Kieron Bryan, who is chief video producer at Channel 4 news, made the invitation on social media.

And even better, Spurs legend Micky Hazard reached out and asked the couple to be his VIP guests the night before for a night with Ledley King and Michael Dawson.

The generous package, which the pair look to have accepted, will include a meet and greet as well as a special gift.

What's more, England skipper Harry Kane then said he would be willing to make the fan his guest for a home game.
