Fan Runs Onto The Pitch In Altrincham Vs Solihull Game And Produces Incredible Slide Tackle

Late in Solihull's 2-1 away win, an Altrincham supporter ran on the pitch and produced the best tackle of the game.

A fan ran onto the pitch and produced one of the best slide tackles we've ever seen during Altrincham's game against Solihull Moors last night.

Solihull won the Conference Premier League clash 2-1, with Joe Sbarra scoring the winner in the 72nd minute.

But the game's real highlight came as we entered stoppage time.

Solihull had the ball down the left-hand side with well-travelled striker Adam Rooney and he looked as though he might be about to take the ball over to the corner flag.

Yet before he had the chance to try and run down the clock, a fan had appeared on the pitch out of nowhere.

The supporter had sprinted onto the turf from the stands, evading stewards and managing to take the ball off Rooney courtesy of a crunching sliding challenge.

Clearly proud of his efforts, the fan proceeded to run around celebrating while the referee blew the whistle to temporarily stop the game.

The game, which was shown live on BT Sport, did get back underway at Moss Lane and saw Solihull see things out to move up to fifth in the table.

Former Stoke, Birmingham and Salford City striker Rooney gave huge praise to the tackle on Twitter, saying the fan should have been awarded Man of the Match for his late cameo.

On Sunday, there was a bizarre moment in Marseille's 0-0 draw with PSG as a fan manage to breeze past stewards and chase Lionel Messi while he had the ball.

In the second half, Messi was dribbling on the right flank when the pitch invader, wearing a puffer jacket, jeans and trainers, appeared and ran towards the six-time Ballon d'Or winner.

He put his arm around Messi but did not get a selfie or even tackle the 34-year-old as security dragged him away.
