Given that he has made a career of casually spanking in 30 yard screamers, thumping headers and mazy solo efforts, you would expect that three yard tap ins would come as easy to Cristiano Ronaldo as taking his top off or advertising a bizarre piece of Japanese ab toning equipment.
However, the four time Ballon d'Or winner was unable to knock the ball into an unguarded net from just three yards during Real Madrid's Copa Del Rey quarter final second leg with Celta Vigo, tonight.
Trailing 2-1 from the first leg, the perfect opportunity presented itself to the Portuguese phenom when his initial headed effort came back off the bar. The rebound could not be guided into the goal by Real's number seven, though, as he helplessly watched it clang against the upright and spin to safety.

To make matters worse for Real, Brazilian full-back Danilo then couldn't get out of the way of an oncoming ball in time and could do nothing but see the ball ricochet off his legs and back into the net to hand Celta the lead on the stroke of half time, extending the aggregate score to 3-1.
UPDATE: Ronaldo has atoned for his error with a rather brilliant free-kick to bring Real level on the night:

Wass fired Celta back into the lead, before Lucas Vazquez equalised for 'Los Blancos' in injury time to draw the match level at 2-2, with Celta leading 4-3 on aggregate.
