Stupidity!

"Dear footballers, even if your manager isn't on Twitter there's a good chance he'll see what you've tweeted." This doesn't feel like something that needs saying but with the case of Marc Wilson it seems like we're best off sending the message to all players just in case.

Wilson obviously isn't the first sportsperson to get himself in trouble because of a stupid use of social media and this isn't even the most ridiculous gaffe, that has to go down to Joleon Lescott's pocket right?, but this still isn't the most intelligent use of 140 characters ever.

The Stoke City defender has been out of the Potters side since January due to an injury that also stopped him playing for Ireland in the Euros. He was on his way back but he sealed his own fate and a move to Bournemouth after criticising his manager's training techniques on Twitter:

And if that seemed like a stupid thing to do he's now officially been shipped off to the South Coast where he had a couple of loan spells back in 2007:

It's probably a pretty good signing for Eddie Howe's side and at least the defender can enjoy lots of defensive drills in training. Still you can't help but feel with or without the Irishman Stoke will concede less goals than Bournemouth, so much for all that training.
