John Stones season went from bad to worse as his embarrassing slip in the Carabao Cup final gifted Aston Villa a lifeline against Manchester City.
Pep Guardiola's side were without Aymeric Laporte through injury for the final so Stones got the nod. Villa had an early chance headed over before City took over and dominated, with Sergio Aguero and Rodri scoring to put them 2-0 up.
With 40 minutes on the clock it already looked like game over but Stones fell over when the ball was in the air and allowed Anwar El Ghazi to go through and cross brilliantly for Mbwana Samatta to head home for 2-1.
The former Everton centre back has often been overlooked for either Fernandinho or Nicolas Otamendi in central defence this season because of his poor form and he hasn't done himself any favours going forward.

There are now questions over the 25-year-old's future at the Etihad as well as his place in Gareth Southgate's squad for the Euros this summer.
In the short term he'll be hoping he doesn't cost his team the cup final.
