Jurgen Klopp Points Blame Elsewhere For FA Cup Loss To West Brom

The Reds lost 3-2 to the Baggies despite being on the right end of two VAR decisions.

Liverpool crashed out of the FA Cup against West Brom on Saturday night after a dramatic and exciting 3-2 loss to fellow Premier League side West Brom. The Reds boss has laid blame at the feet of television execs for the loss.

It's only two weeks ago that Liverpool were riding high having beaten their local rivals Everton in the FA Cup and brought an end to Manchester City's unbeaten Premier League run.

The loss of Philippe Coutinho wasn't being at all felt and Virgil van Dijk hadn't even been needed in the win over City. But in just two weeks that bubble has been well and truly burst.

Check out the Liverpool what could have been XI:

The Reds lost to bottom of the Premier League Swansea last week and followed it up on Saturday with another league struggler in West Brom, getting knocked out of the FA Cup at Anfield in the process.

Jurgen Klopp's side were awarded a penalty thanks to a VAR whilst Alan Pardew's side also had a goal ruled out for offside because of the system. Klopp though believes the mix of VAR and BT Sport's television executives were the reason for his sides inability to have time to get an equaliser:

"What I heard was that the actual extra time in the first half should have been 10 minutes. It was only four minutes.

"I heard that television said it's not longer than four minutes. Of course that's not possible, you can't cut match time because there is something else to broadcast. I don't know what was afterwards, maybe the news or something."

That's rather missing the fact that Liverpool had another 84 minutes to score more goals than their opposition, or at least the same number to force extra time, and BT would hardly be interested in cutting the match short.

Not sure anyone's buying this excuse Jurgen.
