Paul Pogba was one of many who played badly for Manchester United at the weekend and one 30 second clip sums up how bad he was.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side got their season off to a belated and terrible start on Saturday, as they went down 3-1 to Crystal Palace at Old Trafford, thanks to two goals from former United winger Wilfried Zaha.

Pogba's was one of the worst performances, in a sea of terrible performances by United players, and he was taken off after 67 minutes and replaced with new signing Donny van de Beek.

The Frenchman's afternoon was summed up by 30 seconds of the match in which he lazily gave the ball away, saw Bruno Fernandes run past him to win it back, then gave it away again, with a poor pass, and finally fail to make a proper challenge on a Palace player.

Pogba's form had been better at the end of last season, after Bruno Fernandes joined and the French midfielder returned from injury, but he missed some of pre season after testing positive for Covid-19.

Bringing on Van de Beek for Pogba did work somewhat for Solskjaer, with the Dutchman scoring to bring the home side back into the game at 2-1.

The manager then brought on Odion Ighalo for right back Timothy Fosu-Mensah, in an attempt to find the equaliser, but that move backfired.

Zaha, who had earlier scored from a retaken penalty that David de Gea had saved from Andre Ayew, scored the third for Roy Hodgson's side.

Speaking after the match, Solskjaer defended his players' performances, saying, "We all need games, we all need sharpness we all need time to get back to our best and I think we are going to get better

"But we are playing catch-up. Today we didn't defend as well as we could have done but I wouldn't want to point fingers at individuals."

United's start to the season was delayed as they were given last week off following their exploits in Europe last season, where they reached the Europa League semi-final, in order to let them 30 days off between seasons.
