Neymar has seen PSG win four major titles since he's joined the French champions and it's literally 'seen' as the most expensive player in the history of the sport has never been on the pitch when they've won them.

PSG have dominated French football over the past few years winning six of the previous seven Ligue 1 titles and coming second in the year that Monaco upset the applecart in 2016/17.

In that time the Middle East owned side have won the Coupe de France four times and the Coupe de la Ligue on five occasions.

In the summer of 2017 the French champions decided to make Neymar the most expensive player ever, splashing out £198 million on the Brazilian, in an attempt to be even more successful.

Since then they've continued to impress, winning Ligue 1 on two more occasions and added two more cups to their collection.

However on Saturday night they'd have been expecting to add yet another as they faced Rennes in the Coupe de France however it wasn't to be as the league champions lost on penalties to the team in 11th.

And that means that despite all that money and four competitions won in that time Neymar has never been on the pitch when they've won one of those four trophies:

Last season the 27 year old missed a big chunk of the season through injury which meant he wasn't playing when they confirmed their title.

This season the trend continued because PSG weren't crowned champions through them winning a game but because Lille's draw with Toulouse, a week after beating PSG 5-1, meant they couldn't catch their rivals at the top of the table.

The former Barcelona star missed both of last season's cup finals and that's added to their disappointment in both competitions this year, losing to Rennes in one final and losing to Guingamp in the quarters of the other.

Neymar has only been successful in the 2018 Trophée des Champions against Monaco last August, which is the French equivalent of the Community Shield.

PSG are yet to get past the last 16 in the Champions League whilst their most expensive signing has been at the club although he wasn't on the pitch for either loss against Real Madrid and Manchester United.

What is the first piece of silverware Neymar will be on the pitch for?
