Roy has spoken.

It was the hot topic of conversation on Saturday night.

Why was Premier League Golden Boot winner Harry Kane taking corners kicks? Shouldn't he have been challenging for headers in the penalty box? What's Roy playing at?

Although England were bright in spells during the Group B clash against Russia, many jumped on Roy Hodgson's decision to let Harry Kane take corners.

Six corners taken but none of them screamed danger.

At the end of the day, nobody could quite work out why England forward and Premier League top scorer Harry Kane was taking corners but manager Roy Hodgson has explained why.

Hodgson said the following about Kane's corners:

"Yes, he's the best striker of the ball we have. He's the one who gives us the best delivery. We've tried many other players and we don't get the same level of delivery.

"We also have so many players in the penalty area who are very good at attacking the ball - Wayne Rooney being one - that we don't necessarily need Harry there.

"We need him more on the ball, taking the kick, because that's our best chance of scoring."

Maybe it would have been swept under the rug if Russian defender Vasili Berezutski hadn't cancelled out Eric Dier's wonderful free-kick but that's football.

Will Harry step up to take the corners against Wales?

That's an understatement, Rio. ..
