Iker Casillas Once Cost His Dad ONE MILLION POUNDS

Iker Casillas Once Cost His Dad ONE MILLION POUNDS

Probably a good job he went onto become a millionaire

Iker Casillas may not struggle for a few quid nowadays, being that he's a World Cup, European Championship and multiple time Champions League winning Real Madrid and Spain legend, but during his childhood, £1m would have probably been pretty well received.

Yet due to a young Iker's forgetfulness, his family missed out on one of the greatest accumulator wins of all time.

One day, Casillas' Dad selected 14 teams on an accumulator and passed his lucky slip onto the future captain of Real Madrid and Spain and instructed him to place his bet for him.

Now, why anyone would leave a potentially life changing betting slip in the hands of someone young enough to still get into a Wacky Warehouse is beyond us, but that's what Casillas senior did.

Unfortunately, Casillas junior never made it to the bookies (rumours, that we're starting right now, suggest that the distant tingle of an ice cream van's bell or an impromptu game of British Bulldog distracted him) and, as you can probably guess, all 14 of his dad's selections came in.

The forgotten slip would have brought £1m to the Casillas household. So it's probably a good job Iker went onto become one of the greatest and most decorated goalkeepers of his generation.

So, just remember, unless your child has incredible hand eye co-ordination, is fantastic at catching and has an affinity for rushing to the feet of anyone moving towards them, maybe it's for the best to just put your own bets on.
