Liverpool Embarrassingly Lose Behind Closed Doors Friendly

Seven first teamers.

You'd think if you weren't an international player then this week is time for you to relax a little whilst your club's big names are off working their balls off for Sam Allardyce and the like. Apparently not with Liverpool taking the time to have a behind closed doors friendly.

Of course as with everything in this world of social media and insider information the match might have been played in a closed door situation but that won't stop people finding out what happened. That's unfortunate for the Reds who lost to Huddersfield today.

The Mirror reported that a Jurgen Klopp side made up of seven first team players including James Milner, Joel Matip , Lucas Leiva, Alberto Moreno, Roberto Firmino and Danny Ings, lost 2-1 to the Championship side as the German starts to plan for the Reds game against Leicester at the end of the international break.

It's not good news for the likes of Lucas, Moreno and Ings who are on the outskirts of the Liverpool team at the moment and a loss to Huddersfield isn't exactly the best way of going about forcing your way into the first team.

By the sounds of reports Joel Matip could have been enjoying the time on international duty rather than being at Melwood:
