David Alaba demonstrated how not to build out from the back with his funny own goal in Austria's 2-1 win over Malta last night.
The Bayern Munich defender has been busy preparing for Euro 2016 this summer and his country took on Malta in their first warm-up friendly in Wörthersee Stadion, winning 2-1 thanks to goals from Marko Arnautovic and Alessandro Schopf.
He'll play a big part for Austria as captain and midfield maestro - a different role to the left-back one he consistently operates in for the Bundesliga champions Bayern. But Alaba will be keen to avoid any embarrassing own goals in the tournament like the one he scored late on in last night's game.
Good win last night to pick up match practice. Let's just forget about the 87th minute  #AUTMLT #da27 pic.twitter.com/8gdtNKhagk

As Austria knocked the ball about at the back looking for a way to spring forward, goalkeeper Ramazan Ozcan gave it to Alaba at the edge of his own box, but the Bayern man was unable to turn out and instead returned the ball to the goalie - or so he thought.
Ozcan wasn't in the centre of his goal as he prepared for a return pass and, despite his best effort, he was unable to stop the ball from crossing the line for one ridiculous own goal:
