SPORTbible Meets Chelsea Legends Michael Essien And Ashley Cole

Without Ashley Cole and Michael Essien there's a good chance that Chelsea wouldn't have had much of their success in the Roman Abramovich at Stamford Bridge, we caught up with the pair in New York.

Ashley Cole is easily one of the best left backs in the modern era. In his prime there wasn't many players better than him in the world, everyone remembers him keeping Cristiano Ronaldo quiet in the 2006 World Cup match that went to penalties.

During his Chelsea career the full back won the Premier League once, and also won it twice at Arsenal, whilst he also won the FA Cup four times and the Europa League and Champions League once each too.

We met up with him to talk all things Chelsea:

Michael Essien was just iconic during his time with the Blues. The Ghanaian was coveted by lots of teams after his two French titles with Lyon and eventually moved to Chelsea where he won another two league titles.

He also won four FA Cups and the Champions League and would team up with Jose Mourinho later in his career as part of the 'Special One's' time at Real Madrid on loan.

The central midfielder scored one of the most iconic goals of recent years with his wonderful goal against Arsenal.

We also caught up with him on our travels to the US to talk about his career:

But we couldn't leave it at just that.

With two of the best players from the Premier League in the 21st century at our disposal in the Big Apple and an American football with us there was only one question to ask, who could nail the crossbar more times:

Would the two Chelsea legends feature in your Premier League team of the 21st century?
