Looking ahead to Euro 2016, the list of players most fans will be looking forward to see will have included the likes of Antoine Griezmann, Paul Pogba, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Cristiano Ronaldo and Thomas Muller. It's safe to say Northern Ireland's Will Grigg was not on anyone's list. Until now.
Thanks to Grigg's goalscoring exploits this past season, which have helped propel Wigan Athletic back into the Championship at the first time of asking, the striker has become a cult hero, in no small part thanks to Latics fan Sean Kennedy.
Kennedy has celebrated Grigg's 25 goals this season with the song 'Will Grigg's On Fire' to the tune of Gala's 1997 hit 'Freed From Desire' and has become a viral sensation because of it.
Kennedy was rewarded for his efforts with a free season ticket from Latics chairman David Sharpe. Sharpe is a huge fan of Sean's work and expects to see more of the same, next season.
Talking exclusively to TheSPORTbible, Sharpe (who can be seen in the white shirt in the below video) revealed which of Sean's numerous chants is his favourite and what he's planning should Wigan achieve promotion once more, next term.
"He's tweeted videos all year, made songs about me, about players and then finally the Will Grigg song in about March. He's become a bit of a legend with our fans for all the videos he does."
"The best one for me is the original that went viral, it's of our fans in a bar in Blackpool after we won promotion. I do expect him to come up with a new viral chant every season."
" If we were to get promoted next season, a Gala and Sean Kennedy performance at the DW will be happening, yes. Sean Kennedy instead of Andrea Bocelli.
"I think their should be a campaign to get 'Freed From Desire' to number one ahead of the Euros. If Leicester can win the Premier League why can't football fans get 'Freed From Desire' by Gala to number one? Football fans up and down the country should get behind this ahead of the Euros."
Will we be hearing the tune sung in France this Summer by the Northern Ireland masses making their way over for the European Championships? If it means Sean knocks out a few more of videos like the ones above, we certainly hope so.
