Everton Include Anne Frank In Tribute Video To Fans Lost During Covid-19 Pandemic

Everton were forced to delete their tribute video to those fans that they lost during the pandemic, due to a picture of Anne Frank.

Everton were forced to delete a video tribute to their fans who have been lost during Covid-19, after a picture of Holocaust victim Anne Frank was included.

Fans have finally returned in full to the Premier League this weekend, for the first time since March 2020, and it's been great to see across all the matches.

It has also served as a timely reminder of all the fans that have passed away due to the Coronavirus since then, with moments of silence and applause to remember them at some grounds.

Everton chose to remember their fans with a video on social media but were forced to delete it after they used a picture of Anne Frank they were sent by someone.

The video also included the names 'Mike Oxmall' and 'Faye Knews,' and was left up for around seven hours before eventually being deleted.

Someone at the club finally made an edit to the video and it was reposted without the offending picture of the girl who was famously captured by the Nazis during World War Two and taken to concentration camps, first Auschwitz and then Bergen-Belsen, where she died at 15.

The Toffees kicked off their Premier League campaign with a win over Southampton, in Rafa Benitez's first game in charge after controversially taking over in the summer.

Southampton took the lead through new signing Adam Armstrong but things turned around in the second half, Richarlison scored two minutes after the break to level things up.

Abdoulaye Doucoure put the hosts ahead in the 76th minute and five minutes later Dominic Calvert-Lewin wrapped up the points.
