European Giants Eye Move For Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang In January

European Giants Eye Move For Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang In January

The former Arsenal captain's future isn't secure after he was stripped of the captaincy and missed three Premier League games in-a-row.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang could be offered a way out of his Arsenal nightmare, with another European giant joining Barcelona in their interest for the striker.

Aubameyang looks almost certain to leave north London, if Arsenal can attract interest in him, after he lost the captaincy for disciplinary reasons.

The 32-year-old has since been left out of Mikel Arteta's squad for their past three Premier League games, of which they've won them all, and there's no sign of when he'll be picked again.

With 18 months left of his reported £350,000-per-week contract, it could be tough for the Gunners to find a buyer for Aubameyang, but there are a few interested parties.

Barca had already been linked to the former Borussia Dortmund forward, as a replacement for the retired Sergio Aguero, and now Juventus have joined them.

According to Tuttosport, the Old Lady are interested on an initial loan deal to the end of the season for Aubameyang, and would then assess his future after.

Juve have had a poor start to Serie A and Max Allegri's return as manager has not started well at all, having lost five of his opening 18 league games.

Like last season, it's already looking like it could be a battle for the team to finish in the top four and qualify for the Champions League, having previously won the title for nine years in-a-row.

They're already five points behind fourth place Napoli, who have a game in hand, and are also battling with Roma and Fiorentina to get into the top four.

Allegri wants a striker but the club are unlikely to spend big in the summer, which is why a loan for Aubameyang would make sense for them.

As well as the Arsenal forward, the Serie A giants are also interested in Mauro Icardi, who they've had a long term attraction to, since his time at Inter Milan.

The PSG forward is lower down the pecking order this season, with the arrival of Lionel Messi, and has also had his fair share of off field problems in the French capital.

As well as competing with Barca for Aubameyang, Allegri and Xavi could come head-to-head in a battle for Manchester United striker Edinson Cavani, who is also on the Italian's wish list.
