Erling Haaland Produced Miss Of The Night Despite Hat-Trick In World Cup Qualifying

Haaland picked up the match ball as Norway easily saw past Gibraltar but the Borussia Dortmund striker proved he's human with a bad mistake.

Erling Haaland scored a hat-trick on Tuesday night but also proved he is human with the miss of the night, as Norway beat Gibraltar.

Haaland's brilliance is beyond any sense of doubt, even when it comes to training, and he continues to pile on the goals against all and every opposition he faces, for club or country.

This week he's been trying to help Norway qualify for their first men's international tournament since 2000, scoring in the draw with Netherlands, also snapping Virgil van Dijk's finger in the process, and win over Latvia.

On Tuesday he bagged himself a hat-trick in the 5-1 win over minnows Gibraltar, to stay level on points with Netherlands in their group.

Despite the hat-trick however, the Borussia Dortmund striker showed that he's just as capable of an embarrassing mistake as the rest of us, as he somehow missed a virtual open goal tap in.

Goals in the 27th, 39th and 91st minute more than made up for the miss, as Norway produced the victory that was expected, whilst having 42 shots during the game.

The seven points in three games, with the only dropped ones coming against their rivals for the top spot, puts Stale Solbakken's side in a really good position.

With just four games to go in qualifying, the Scandinavians are level with Netherlands and two points clear of Turkey in third place.

They do have to play both sides away, with Turkey next in October and the Dutch in November, but still have a great chance of at least making the play offs.

Whilst he'll be spending the next few months concentrating on potential success with Norway and Dortmund, all thoughts about him will be on where the 21-year-old ends up next.

The former Red Bull Salzburg striker was heavily linked with a move to Chelsea in the summer but his club were determined to keep hold of him.

Next summer however, Haaland's release clause will be active and their could be a huge fight to sign him, especially with the futures of Kylian Mbappe, Harry Kane and Robert Lewandowski still up in the air.

Where will Haaland end up next summer? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
