"Divock Origi Would Start Over Cristiano Ronaldo At Manchester United"

"Divock Origi Would Start Over Cristiano Ronaldo At Manchester United"

Origi is in great form and has become extremely reliable off the bench for Liverpool but we can't see him starting over Ronaldo at United.

Divock Origi would get into Manchester United's starting XI ahead of Cristiano Ronaldo, claims one Liverpool fan who also thinks the Belgian striker has done more than his counterpart in the past four years.

Origi is somewhat of a cult hero at Liverpool due to his ability to come up with goals at the perfect moment, often coming on as a substitute.

He's scored important goals in the Merseyside derby, Champions League semi final and Champions League final all whilst not being a regular starter.

In the past two games for the Reds, Origi has scored winning goals against Wolves and AC Milan, the former coming in the 90th minute as a sub.

Now one Liverpool fan has claimed that the Belgian forward would get into any team in the Premier League and would start ahead of Ronaldo.

The caller asks what Ronaldo has done in the past four years compared to Origi, who has picked up a Champions League and Premier League winning medal in that time.

The Manchester United man scored 145 goals for Juventus and Real Madrid in his previous four seasons before this one and won one Champions League and two Serie A titles.

He was also voted as Serie A footballer of the year twice and won the award for top goalscorer in the Italian top tier last season.

Since arriving back in the Premier League things haven't gone perfectly for the 36-year-old, but he's still scored 12 goals in 17 games and reached his 801st career goal in the recent win over Arsenal.

In the same four seasons, Origi has scored just 21 times in all competitions, including during his loan spell to Wolfsburg in 2017/18.

The former Lille striker is a big part of Jurgen Klopp's side but almost exclusively as back up to the likes of Diogo Jota, Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino.

He has made an incredible impact at the right time and he may get the chance to do so again in January, when Salah and Mane are at the African Cup of Nations, a competition that the Liverpool boss is unlikely to be a welcome guest at.

That could be the time we really see if Origi would get into the United starting line up ahead of a five time Ballon d'Or winner, it seems unlikely...
