Cristiano Ronaldo's Entire Pre Newcastle United Match Speech Revealed

Cristiano Ronaldo's Entire Pre Newcastle United Match Speech Revealed

Ronaldo gave his Manchester United teammates a stirring speech ahead of his Premier League return and now it's been revealed

Cristiano Ronaldo gave a speech to his Manchester United teammates, ahead of his Premier League return at the weekend, and now it's been revealed what he said.

There was much fanfare around Ronaldo's return to United on Saturday, and he turned in a near perfect performance, scoring twice in a 4-1 win.

As well as his ability to score, fans are hopeful that the 36-year-old will have a big impact on his teammates, which is apparently already visible when it comes to dessert.

Ronaldo also delivered a pre match speech to inspire the rest of the United team, and now we know exactly what he told them.

"Ronaldo’s speech was very powerful and uplifting. The whole group of players and coaching staff listened in silence," a source told the Sun.

"He told his team-mates: ‘I have returned to Man United for two reasons.

"'The first is because I love the club. The second is I love the winning mentality that breeds through the ranks of this club.

"'I have not come back to be a cheerleader. If you guys want to succeed, then I need you to love this club from the bottom of your hearts.

"'You need to eat, sleep and fight for this club. Whether you play or do not play, you need to support your teammates and always give 100 per cent for the club.

"'I am here to win and nothing else. Winning brings us happiness. I want to be happy, do you?’"

When Ronaldo left the club in 2009, to join Real Madrid for a then world record fee, they had just won their third league title in-a-row, and had reached back-to-back Champions League finals, winning one.

Things haven't been so good at Old Trafford for the past few years and they haven't won the league since Sir Alex Ferguson retired in 2013, and not won any silverware in four years.

Ronaldo acknowledged the club had 'taken a fall' since the man who helped persuade him to return had retired, but backed the current players to bring success back.

"You are all amazing players and I believe in you, or else I would have not returned," he is said to have added.

"The fans will support you, if you give your best. I just want to create a winning mentality, so when I do retire one day, the winning mentality will remain, and this group of players will dominate football, like we did in the past.

"I will do my best for the team but I need your support too. Are you ready to fight? Are you ready to leave everything on the pitch?"

And then everyone cheered and gave a round of applause, like in the memes but apparently this did happen.
