Man City Rule Out Ronaldo Transfer, Bookies Make Man Utd Odds-On

In yet another dramatic twist in the Cristiano Ronaldo transfer saga, bookmakers have slashed the odds of the Portuguese phenomenon making a sensational return to Manchester United during this summer’s transfer window.

Well, well, well. Who saw this one coming? Yesterday, Ronaldo was dramatically plunged into the red hot favourite - priced at 1/8 - to join Manchester City

Meanwhile, on Thursday morning, Ronaldo was a mammoth price of 20/1 to join United, but has since been smashed into the new odds-on favourite after Red Devils boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer admitted that he would welcome the 36-year-old back at the club, affirming: "He knows that we are here."

The sensational move would see United trump their noisy neighbours by signing the five-time Ballon d’Or winner, who spent six trophy-laden years at the club.

“I didn’t think Ronaldo was going to turn out leaving Juventus and if it’s been speculation this morning, speculation the last few days, of course,” said Solskjaer, when asked if he would welcome back Cristiano to the club.

“We’ve always had good communication, I know Bruno [Fernandes] has been talking to him as well and he knows what we feel about him and if he was ever going to move away from Juventus, he knows that we are here.”

According to Sky Sports News this afternoon, City have ruled themselves out of the running in signing Ronaldo, leaving United as the overwhelming frontrunners to sign one of the all-time greats.

“Cristiano will decide where he wants to play, not Manchester City, not myself,” said Pep Guardiola when asked about Ronaldo earlier this afternoon.

“Right now, I am more than delighted with the squad we have and we will stay the same.”

This is the transfer window that just keep on giving and, with that said, United fans, fasten your seatbelts. Ronaldo is, almost certainly, coming to the red side of Manchester. Watch this space.
