Clive Tyldesley revealed that ITV has removed the legendary commentator as their number one, replacing him with Sam Matterface, and it hasn't gone down too well.
The 65-year-old posted on Twitter, in an emotional message, to say he didn't know why he'd been replaced but wasn't retiring and would still work on tournaments for ITV.
To many Tyldesley will always be the voice of Champions League, from when the channel showed weekly games from the European competitions, and he commentated on many classic moments.
From 'Can United score? They always score,' to 'Remember the name, Wayne Rooney,' he really has covered some of the best moments in the best way and fans on Twitter shared some of their favourites:
With the news that Clive Tyldesley is being replaced as ITV's main football commentator, I think it's only fair to remind everyone just how good he is at his job.- HLTCO (@HLTCO) July 14, 2020

I think my favourite @CliveTyldesley moment was his reaction to Lehmann saving Riquelme's penalty.- A:part_alternation_mark:it (@AFCAmit) July 14, 2020
So authentic and in tune with how most/all Arsenal fans felt when it was saved.

Disappointing news, Clive. A big part of my youth was listening to you commentate on Arsenal in Europe. And one of my favourite goals and pieces of commentary was this. The famous "ahh!" pic.twitter.com/eB2iqsagen- AFCAMDEN (@AFCAMDEN) July 14, 2020

Saw Clive Tyldesley being replaced as ITV commentator and it reminded me of how excellent he is. A great commentator enhances the spectacle and there were few better than him. pic.twitter.com/4FWgNptgrc- Tahmid A. A. (@TA_A244) July 14, 2020
Tyldesley, who delighted fans on social media at the beginning of lockdown by commentating to everyday events and 'singing' song lyrics in his commentary style, is at least staying on at ITV as a secondary commentator.
That means we'll still be able to hear him at the Euros next year, and hopefully at the World Cup in 2022, although not on England games.
It's a bad decision from ITV for me, Clive!
