Footballers get a bad rep too often and whilst there's no doubt that there's some proper sh*thouses there's no denying quite a lot of them do some top work for charity. Everton defender Seamus Coleman's just donated £5000 to make one fan's dream come true.

A family friend of six year-old Irish Everton fan Daire set up a gofundme page to raise £1000 in an attempt to get the youngster who suffers from apert syndrome over to Liverpool to be able to watch an Everton match and fulfil his dream.

The target might only have been £1000 but the Everton right-back donated five thousand meaning that £4000 will be donated to the charity Mencap, well played Seamus:

According to the charity page the club have already said that the six year-old fan is welcome to a game at the beginning of next season but the issue had been paying for the trip over to England for Daire and his family to watch the game.

Nice one Seamus!

If you want to donate and help raise money for Mencap then go to gofundme
