Chelsea Captain Cesar Azpilicueta Produced An Utterly Bizarre Challenge On Jack Grealish

Cesar Azpilicueta was involved in the most bizarre moment in Chelsea's 1-0 loss to Manchester City on Saturday.

The Blues skipper has gone viral for his unusual challenge on Jack Grealish early on in the second half, bundling the £100 million man over when he received the ball from a Joao Cancelo.

Azpilicueta landed on top of Grealish but then stood over the former Aston Villa captain as he got up - basically being lifted by the 26-year-old in a very odd moment.

It was incredibly odd behaviour from Azpilicueta, while Grealish didn't react whatsoever and just had a little glance at his opponent.

It garnered a lot of reaction from fans on social media:

You have to say, it's some strength from Grealish to squat a fully grown bloke with ease.

Azpilicueta was controversially sent off for a challenge on Grealish at the end of the last season so perhaps that was the reason for his unusual antics.

Gabriel Jesus' deflected second half strike handed Chelsea their first defeat of the campaign and moved the sky Blues level on 13 points after an impressive, dominant display.

Grealish has very quickly settled into his new surroundings and produced arguably his best performance for the Premier League champions at Stamford Bridge.

Already, fans reckon he's growing into a better and more complete player under Pep Guardiola.
