'Players Don't Like Him' - Manchester United Star Told His Behaviour Is Annoying Teammates

'Players Don't Like Him' - Manchester United Star Told His Behaviour Is Annoying Teammates

"I’m sure there are players within that squad that don’t like him."

Bruno Fernandes has been told his Manchester United teammates may have a problem with how he acts on the pitch.

Fernandes scored twice on Saturday evening in United's 2-2 draw with Aston Villa, but it's been a poor season by his high standards.

The Portugal international isn't one to hide his emotions and former Red Devils defender Paul Parker believes it'll rub other members of the squad the wrong way.

"Fernandes is a concern for me," Parker explained on Talk of the Devils.

"Just watching him and the way he betrays himself on the pitch, I’m sure there are players within that squad that don’t like him and what he does on that pitch.

"He brings too much attention to everything. He puts in a bad tackle and he’s telling people to get up. He gets tackled himself and he rolls around, and he wants to show he’s got a nick on his sock or something."

The 27-year-old is passionate on the pitch and will do anything it takes to win, something that's endeared him to United fans since arriving in 2020.

Fernandes' numbers prove he's been one of the Premier League's star players in the last two years.

Parker thinks one incident in particular, involving Villa striker Ollie Watkins, showed the negative side of his game.

The Premier League winner continued: "Watkins tried to help him up the other day. He’s a lovely lad, no malice in him.

"He felt he didn’t do anything and he tried to get him up, wasn’t rude to him and he (Bruno) pushes his arms up into his face and was very disrespectful to him. All that adds a bit."

Fernandes' brace at Villa Park takes him to seven goals for the season, after hitting 27 and 28 in the last two seasons respectively.

It's been reported that Fernandes and his agent recently turned down a new contract, with his current deal not set to expire until 2025.

United are said to be relaxed about the situation, but Parker isn't happy and vented: "No one out there really wanted him. United have grabbed hold of him. I can understand why other clubs haven’t gone to him, I think there is a little bit about him personally that has maybe kept people away."

Jadon Sancho, Raphael Varane and Cristiano Ronaldo arrived in the summer after the club finished second last season.

A terrible start to the season saw Ole Gunnar Solskjaer dismissed as manager in November and the following month saw Ralf Rangnick appointed as an interim until the end of the season.

United return to action on Wednesday night against Brentford.
