The Incredible Moment Brazilian Player Invents Front Flip Dive To Win A Penalty

Marinho was clipped but he exaggerated the fall in spectacular fashion.

A Brazilian player invented an all-new 'front flip dive' to win a penalty for Santos last night.

Santos, who have been in the middle of a relegation fight, claimed a much-needed 2-0 win over Red Bull Bragantino.

Marinho scored the opener in the 28th minute but his biggest contribution came late in stoppage time to seal the victory.

Played through, the No.11 chopped inside and was clipped by the defender.

It was probably going to be a penalty anyway because of the contact but the 28-year-old felt he needed to exaggerate the fall.

Thus, he did a spectacular somersault in the penalty area and was successful in winning the spot-kick.

Uruguayan midfielder Carlos Sanchez stepped up and converted the penalty to seal a vital three points. After the win, Santos have now moved up to 13th in the Brazilian Serie A and are five points ahead of the relegation zone following 38 games.

Marinho, meanwhile, might just have a future in gymnastics given his wonderful acrobatics.

Somehow, he might not be responsible for the worst dive ever. That award goes to Danko Lazovic of Videoton for his threatrics against Honved back in 2017.

He does appear to be fouled but the antics of the former PSV and Feyenoord man are absolutely mental - flopping and rolling over the place as if he's having some sort of exorcism or neath-death experience.

Legs and arms were thrown vigorously, with Lazovic. even refusing the aid of his teammates in order to keep his art of conning on point.
