Punter Wins £10,000 From Brilliant £20 World Cup Bet

Uruguay's win over Portugal bagged one gambler a handy sum thanks to Edinson Cavani and Pepe.

The World Cup is a very good time for those people who like a little flutter on the football, after all there's almost always a game going on, and one punter may have pulled off the bet of the World Cup.

Making a prediction and putting a bet on it are two very different things. For example if I make a prediction but don't put a bet on it there's a good chance it'll happen. Should I think something might happen and put my money on it then it'll never come through.

Way back when the World Cup draw was made last December I said that Croatia would finish above Argentina in the Group Stage, I had a very strong feeling and was very sure of it.

Of course I didn't actually put any money on it. Unlike my double for Antoine Griezmann to be top scorer and Germany to win the World Cup- yeah, that's going just great.

Perhaps I should follow the tips of someone who knows what they're doing like the guy who backed Edinson Cavani and Pepe to both score headers in Saturday evening's game between Uruguay and Portugal:

A very good bet having Cavani and Pepe to both score in the 2-1 win for Uruguay that put them into a quarter final against France and earned the punter £10,000 from his £20, excellent work.

Cavani opened the scoring with a brilliant header from Luis Suarez cross in the seventh minute. Pepe got Portugal level in the 55th minute when he found himself unmarked at a corner and headed home.

The PSG forward had the last laugh as his first time strike curled past Rui Patricio to give the South Americans a well earned win.

At least someone knows how to gamble properly!
