As the football season draws to a close and attentions begin to shift from the domestic game to the international scene, football pundits and fans alike are beginning to select the players they would take on the plane to France, this Summer. And this morning, Sky Sports pundit and former England international Paul Merson has chosen his England starting XI for Euro 2016.

Opting for a 4-2-3-1 formation, Merson may turn a few heads with his selection, deciding to shift Captain Wayne Rooney out wide and leaving Premier League goalscoring record breaker Jamie Vardy on the bench, with Kyle Walker's resurgence in form not enough to warrant a place ahead of Nathaniel Clyne, who hasn't exactly shone since swapping St.Mary's for Anfield in the Summer.
