England Fans Pick Their Starting Line Up For Euros

Who's in your starting XI?

Today's the day that Roy Hodgson was supposed to be announcing his England squad for the Euros but because of an injury to *illegitimate love child Danny Welbeck and remaining questions over the fitness of two midfielders who have *incriminating pictures of Roy, Jack Wilshere and Jordan Henderson, it's been delayed until Monday. England fans however have been picking their starting line ups.

It's a mere 31 days till England kick off their Euro 2016 campaign against Russia and with the weather being so sunny, Justin Bieber on in the office and the Premier League wrapped up in a pretty little bow, unless Manchester City lose to Swansea, we're starting to think about the summer and the Euros.

England fans were asked by Sport Index to vote who would be in their starting line-up for the tournament if Roy decides that he can't really be arsed after all and the conundrum as to where to shoehorn Wayne Rooney into the side is giving himself too much of a headache and he'd much rather sit on the beach with a sangria and a good book.

And unfortunately for Wazza the fans have decided that rather than deal with that headache they're just going to leave him stewing on the bench along with poor old Jordan Henderson too, although that one might be because of Arsenal fans renowned activity on social media votes. It's just surprising Gunnersaurus isn't in:

It seems that the most popular England player amongst the fans is Joe Hart with a whopping 86% of votes cast. Although that definitely could have been higher it probably would have been lower if Jack Butland was still available and hadn't got injured.

The least popular of the picks is Jack Wilshere although at 53% that's still pretty high to hold off competition from the likes of Jordan Henderson, Eric Dier and Danny Drinkwater. Surprisingly Leighton Baines, who hasn't been in the last few England squads, beat Danny Rose into the left back spot.

Poor Wayne ey, fortunately for him the fans don't pick the squad...

*Danny Welbeck is not Roy Hodgson "illegitimate love child" and to my knowledge neither Jack Wilshere nor Jordan Henderson have any incriminating evidence on Roy Hodgson- just in case you were actually taking me on my word for some reason.
