Yaya Toure Picks Four Premier League Players In World Cup XI

Yaya Toure Picks Four Premier League Players In World Cup XI

The big Ivorian has just left Manchester City after winning the Premier League for the third time.

If you're currently trying to decide who to pick for your World Cup fantasy football team then maybe Yaya Toure has some help for you in the form of his XI from this summer's tournament.

Yaya Toure might not be playing at the World Cup and he may not even have a club team right now but the former Manchester City and Barcelona man is hardly being quiet.

Just a week ago Toure claimed that his old boss at his two most famous sides Pep Guardiola was racist saying, "Maybe us Africans aren't always treated the same by certain people. When you see the problems he (Pep) has often had with African players, everywhere he has been, I ask myself questions.

"He's too intelligent to be caught. He'll never admit it (not liking Africans)."

Yaya had other criticism for Guardiola adding, "Like all players, I have bickered with my coaches. But at a certain point, men who do not understand each other reconcile. This is not possible with Pep, who is very rigid. The other players will never admit it publicly but some have already told me that they ended up hating him. Because he manipulates and plays a lot with your head."

Now in an interview for France Football the 35 year old joked that it had given him the idea to 'put myself inside the skin of a coach' and pick his World Cup XI:

Toure included four Premier League names with only David de Gea being picked from outside of Premier League champions City.

From the Citizens he picked Kyle Walker, Benjamin Mendy and Sergio Aguero with the rest of the players coming from Real Madrid, PSG and Barcelona.

Explaining the picks Toure said, "It is a surprise I name Kyle Walker - he is not yet well known but he can be one of the revelations of the World Cup.

"I have never seen anyone so quick. And he is very cunning when he goes forward.

"On the other side, I would pick Mendy. Another City player? Yes, so? At the top of his form, he has impressive power and speed and crosses well. Up front, they will feast on his service.

"Down the middle, Aguero is no longer the most talented but he is a clever opportunist.

"Mbappe, also down the middle, has power, technique, speed, intelligence and control to find his place among this players."

It's a pretty decent team but we wouldn't suggest adding Casemiro to your fantasy team and anyway there's no way you're going to be able to afford that side.

Who would make your World Cup XI?
