Bernd Leno Wore Arsenal's Away Kit Vs Leeds And Nobody Knows Why

Not for the first time, Arsenal goalkeeper Bernd Leno wore the club's away kit while in net.

For reasons still unclear, Bernd Leno wore Arsenal's away kit at home while in goal against Leeds United last night.

The Gunners beat Marcelo Bielsa's side 2-0, with goals from Calum Chambers and Eddie Nketiah securing progression to the Carabao Cup quarter finals.

Leno, who has lost the No.1 shirt to Aaron Ramsdale for the time being, was named Man of the Match for the game at the Emirates.

But Arsenal fans were extremely confused over their goalkeeper wearing their yellow away strip for this season.

Leeds wore their navy away kit for the game, while their goalkeeper Illan Meslier was sporting an orange shirt.

The main Arsenal goalkeeper shirt is green so there was no concerns about a kit clash, it seems like Leno is just refusing to wear his allocated tops.

Arsenal's other goalkeeper shirts are orange and blue yet there was Leno wearing yellow. It's also not the first time he has done it as against Chelsea in August, he wore the kit then too.

The Adidas away strip is primarily for outfielders but apparently Arsenal have made it so those between the sticks can also wear it on occasion.

Last season, Leno wore a white away top at home to Wolves to avoid a kit clash with opposite number Rui Patricio and we reckon it's only a matter of time before he's wearing the old yellow Adidas JVC shirts from 1991 to 1993.
