Ben Foster Gave Fascinating Insight Into Mo Salah's Elite Mentality After Watford 0-5 Liverpool

Ben Foster has revealed his chat with Mo Salah after Liverpool smashed Watford 5-0 at Vicarage Road.

Ben Foster has given a fascinating insight into Mo Salah's desire to be the best after he revealed what the Egyptian said to him following Liverpool's 5-0 win over Watford.

Salah scored one of the best goals of his career past Foster in the drubbing at Vicarage Road, flooring defenders before curling one into the top corner.

He also laid on an utterly outrageous outside of the boot assist for Sadio Mane's opener.

After the game, Salah was seen in conversation with Foster and put his hand over his mouth so the exchange was a little more private.

There were a few ideas floating about as to what Salah told Foster, but the former Manchester United goalkeeper went and shared their dialogue in a vlog on his 'CyclingGK' YouTube channel.

Surprisingly, Salah was actually desperate to know which way Foster would have gone had Salah been awarded a penalty in the game.

“So they’ve just won the game 5-0. Mo Salah, I think he scored one goal in the game," Foster explained.

“But he came up to me at full-time and he’s got his hand over his mouth a little bit because he didn’t want the cameras to catch it.

“He’s come up and gone: ‘Ben, Ben…’

“I’ve gone: ‘Okay, yeah? You alright? And he’s gone: ‘If I’d have got a penalty, which way would you have dived?’

“Now, as soon as he said that, I thought: ‘Oh, you clever, clever boy’ because we do our research. All the goalkeepers out there do their research on strikers and we’ll try and find out where their last four, five or 10 penalties might have gone, for example, and Mo Salah’s last five penalties he put to the goalkeeper’s right.

“So I’ve looked at him and I’ve gone: ‘Ah okay. I’d have gone to my right. I’d have dived to my right because you put your last five penalties to the right’."

Showering praise on the Egyptian superstar, Foster continued: “A big smile came up on his face, a big grin, and he went: ‘Yeah, thank you. I need to know, I need to know’.

“So not content with just winning the game 5-0 and scoring an unbelievable goal and being Man of the Match, he has to know the tiny little details. In his next game, if he gets that penalty, which way he should put it.

“That’s why Mo Salah, he’s at the top, guys. He is the top.”

In his next game, Salah struck twice in the 3-2 Champions League win over Atletico Madrid - including a penalty to Jan Oblak's right for the winner.

Days later he made history at Old Trafford in the 5-0 thrashing of Manchester United on Sunday by becoming the first opposition player to score a hat-trick at the stadium in the Premier League.
