Athletic Club Youngsters Beat Women's Team 6-0 In Friendly

An Athletic youth team beat the women's first-team in a friendly fixture.

Athletic Club youngsters played against the Basque outfit's women's side and it ended in a 6-0 win for the team of teenagers.

The Cadete A team, made up of players who are 14,15 and 16 years of age, dominated the 90 minute friendly fixture in what was ultimately a resounding victory, as per ABC.

Athletic's professional female team is one of the most successful sides in Spain, with five championships in their collection.

Their last title win came in the 2015/16 campaign and saw them qualify for the UEFA Women's Champions League the following season.

In their most recent season, they finished 11th in the top division after amassing 40 points from 34 games.

The team are currently gearing up for the new term with friendlies and will begin the campaign with a game against Madrid CFF on 5 September.

The friendly result led to plenty of backlash, as many fans jumped to disrespect women and women's football.

Virginia Torrecilla, who plays for Atletico Madrid and the Spanish national team, took to Twitter to put a hating fan in his place.

"Can you tell me what to do with this individual? Please ... why is my f***ing patience running out !!!!!!!" Torrecilla wrote.

"Play with your colleagues the "drunks" and see if you win the 14-year-olds !!! That is always the same! If you don't like futfem, don't follow it, period !!!!"

In 2017, the FC Dallas Under 15's side played the United States women's team, the reigning world champions and won 5-2 against the likes of Megan Rapinoe and Carli Lloyd.

That game served as preparation for the national team's two friendlies with Russia.
