When Arsenal would need to register Trossard signing by for him to play against Man Utd

Arsenal are said to be in advanced talks with Brighton’s Leandro Trossard.

Arsenal are said to be in advanced talks with Brighton’s Leandro Trossard. But when would the Gunners need to sign him for him to be eligible against Manchester United on Sunday?

Mikel Arteta’s side are reportedly in talks with wantaway forward Trossard, having missed out on the signing of Mykhailo Mudryk to Chelsea.

However, while conversations are set to be at an advanced stage, Arsenal are yet to have made an official offer for the 28-year-old.

Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano tweeted on Thursday morning: “Arsenal have opened talks to sign Leandro Trossard from Brighton, negotiations are advanced with official bid ready for a permanent move. Personal terms already agreed — talks will continue to get the deal done soon.”

Though negotiations appear to be moving along quickly, Brighton allegedly will not sell the Belgium international unless their valuation is met, despite the 28-year-old's public demands to leave the club.

But how quickly would Arsenal need to complete a deal for Trossard, for him to feature against United on Sunday?

Could Trossard play against Man Utd?

According to Premier League rules Trossard would need to sign for Arsenal by noon on Friday for him to feature against United at the weekend.

Rule U.23 in the Premier League’s official handbook states: “A player [must be registered by] 12 noon on the last Working Day before the date of the first league Match in which the Club making the application intends him to play.”

If Trossard is registered in time, he could feature for the league leaders in a crucial Premier League tie against United.

Despite a disappointing 1-1 draw against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Wednesday, Erik ten Hag’s men have been in resurgent form in recent months.

Meanwhile, Arsenal, have the opportunity to extend their eight-point advantage over United.

United remain the only side to have beaten Arsenal in the Premier League this season, though they will have to do it without their midfield talisman Casemiro, who is suspended.
