Arsenal Fans Angry Over Player's Theme Park Visit During Brentford Loss

Whilst Arsenal were losing their Premier League opener to Brentford on Friday, one player was posting about his holiday on social media.

Arsenal fans were left annoyed by one player's social media post on Friday, during their embarrassing 2-0 opening day loss to Brentford.

Arsenal opened up the Premier League season with a London derby against the newly promoted side on Friday night and would have been hoping for a positive start to the season.

That's not how things panned out though as Sergi Canos put the hosts ahead, just 22 minutes into their return to the top tier for the first time in 74 years.

Things got even worse for Mikel Arteta's side after the half time break, as Christian Norgaard managed to evade the detection of the entire Arsenal defence to head home and make it 2-0 after 73 minutes.

Unsurprisingly the Gunners' fans were not happy with the outcome, or the performance of many of their players, but their ire would turn towards someone not even playing.

Midfielder Lucas Torreira is still on an extended holiday, having played for Uruguay in the Copa America, and he posted on Twitter from a theme park, as the team were losing.

Unsurprisingly, the post didn't go down well at all amongst the fan base.

The 25-year-old midfielder signed for the Premier League bottom place side in July 2018 from Sampdoria, and was hoped to be the answer to all the defensive midfielder problems they've had over the years.

However things never turned out for Torriera at the Emirates Stadium as hoped and last season he was loaned out to Atletico Madrid, with Atleti's Thomas Partey being signed by Arteta.

With Torreira not thought to be in the manager's plans, and still on holiday, they started with Granit Xhaka, who looked Roma bound earlier this summer, and new boy Albert Sambi Lokonga in midfield.

They perhaps could have done with their Uruguayan or the recently sold Joe Willock instead, it might have saved them from Friday's embarrassment.

They aren't clear from it either, with Amazon cameras following them during the defeat, and the rest of the season, as they film the club's All or Nothing season.
