Allan Saint-Maximin Given Harsh Rating Downgrade On FIFA 22

Allan Saint-Maximin Given Harsh Rating Downgrade On FIFA 22

The Newcastle United forward is his club's best player by quite some way but he's still been given a downgrade on FIFA 22.

Newcastle United forward Allan Saint-Maximin has been given a downgrade for FIFA 22, despite his excellent form for Steve Bruce's struggling team.

Saint-Maximin has been one of the Premier League's most exciting and entertaining players since moving to Newcastle from Nice in 2019, and one of the best on social media.

The French forward only scored six goals in his first 51 league games for the club but his ability on the ball has been unquestionable and he's been the Magpies best player in a very poor spell for the club.

This season the 24-year-old has started with two goals and two assists in just five league games, despite the team being down in 18th, having failed to win a single league game.

The team's form, rather than the player's, must be the reason why he's had a downgrade on this year's FIFA, going from an 80 overall on FIFA 21 to 79 on FIFA 22.

As well as his overall, ASM has lost marks on all but two of his attributes, which is why his card has been dropped a rating on the game.

His pace is down two, which particularly seems harsh, which is the same as his passing and his physicality, whilst his shooting has dropped one.

Only his dribbling, 87, and defending, 25, which he's not exactly known for and nor is it particularly important to his game, have stayed the same.

As per the Newcastle Chronicle, the downground means that Saint-Maximin is actually below new Brighton signing Marc Cucurella in the ratings, with the Spanish winger rated 81.

Much like his new Premier League counterpart, Cucurella only scored three Premier League goals last season, which is likely why ASM's finishing has been dropped.

They also compared the forward with Tottenham Hotspur's Steven Bergwijn, with the Dutchman having nine better shooting despite only one league goal last season.

Arsenal fans are also likely to be unhappy with their players' ratings on FIFA 22, after their £150 million worth of new signings haven't exactly been rated too highly.

Players have also had their say on the ratings, as they usually do, with Japhet Tanganga the latest to have a moan.
