All Hell Broke Loose After Internacional Players Celebrated Gremio Derby By Holding Up 'Fake Coffins'

All Hell Broke Loose After Internacional Players Celebrated Gremio Derby By Holding Up 'Fake Coffins'

Internacional beat Gremio 1-0 and their celebrations wound up the opposition players, who raced back out from the tunnel.

There was utter chaos at the final whistle after Internacional beat Gremio in the 'Grenal' derby.

Internacional won 1-0 at home courtesy of a goal from former Shakhtar Donetsk man Taison in the first half.

And it all kicked off at the end of the game when Internacional players mocked their opponents.

Some members of the team held up fake cardboard coffins - a symbol for the death of Gremio, who are in serious danger of being relegated to the second tier in Brazil.

Pretty much the entire Gremio squad had left the pitch at this point but when they saw what happened, many charged out from the tunnel and back onto the pitch for a confrontation.

There was lots of chasing and pushing and shoving as players got into it, with it taking some time before stewards and other officials were able to calm it all down.

Bruno Cortez of Gremion was sent off, with Internacional midfielder Patrick Nascimento also being shown his marching orders for his role in the fracas.

That role was being the main player parading the cardboard coffins in Gremio colours.

Gremio are 19th in the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A with just nine games remaining. Vagner Mancini's side, who have Douglas Costa and Rafinha in their ranks, are seven points from safety.

Last week, when Gremio lost 3-1 to Palmeiras, fans stormed the pitch and smashed the VAR area in some crazy scenes.
