Manchester United are reportedly interested in a move for Real Madrid forward Vinicius Jr - but they're only his 'second-best option' this summer.
While Madrid and United discussed the move for Raphael Varane, Real are said to have brought up the availability of Brazil star Vinicius Jr, as per The Mirror.
But according to AS, they claim a move to Old Trafford is very unlikely for the 21-year-old during this transfer window, who are now focused on departures rather than signings.

Madrid are believed to want at least £68.5m for Vinicius Jr, but United - who have just paid £73m to sign Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund - would prefer a loan with an option to buy.

To put simply, it would be difficult for the Brazilian attacker to move to Old Trafford with United already having signed Sancho and Raphael Varane for big fees.
The Brazilian forward is one of president Florentino Perez's favourite players at the club, and is also held in high esteem by the coaching staff.
Despite rumours to the contrary, therefore, Vinicius - who has made 118 appearances for the Spanish giants - is expected to play a big part in Madrid's plans in 2021-22.
While reports in England had suggested a move to Old Trafford was a possibility for the Brazilian, no such talks between United and Madrid are in process.

The interest is there, though, nonetheless and if things change in the coming weeks, this may be a rumour we see popping up once again.
