Lionel Messi will soon be unveiled as a Paris Saint-Germain player after the former Barcelona number 10 agreed a two-year contract offer from the Ligue 1 side.

Since joining Barcelona as a fresh-faced 13-year-old, Messi has spent the majority of his time with the Catalan club and has predominantly wore the number 10 shirt.

Messi, however, will be aware that Neymar - a former colleague at Barca - already dons his iconic number, leading much speculation as to what number the Argentine will wear at PSG.

According to Get French Football News, the six-time Ballon d'Or winner will take the number 30 shirt, having allegedly rejected Neymar's offer to take over his shirt number as the pair look to reunite.

Interestingly, 30 was the number worn by Messi at Barca when he first broke into the senior set up as a teenager.

He wore that shirt from 2004/05 for two season until 2006/07, when he then took on the number 19 jersey that was vacated by Spanish left-back Fernando Navarro. Could 19 be the number for Messi?

Messi then became Barca's most famous and iconic number 10 in 2008, when the legendary Ronaldinho departed for AC Milan.

During a tearful press conference on Sunday, the 34-year-old said an emotional goodbye to the Catalans after 21 years, 34 major trophies and 672 goals in 778 appearances.

And just days later, the Argentina international was pictured arriving in the French capital with a beaming smile, as he was greeted by an army of PSG supporters.

Messi has reportedly agreed a two-year contract at the Parc des Princes that includes the option for a third and will see him earn at least €25million per year. Not too shabby that, eh?

Messi could make his PSG debut as soon as Saturday night, when Mauricio Pochettino's side host Strasbourg in their second Ligue 1 fixture of the new season, but in what number shirt will he play?
