Manchester City are set to trigger the release clause in Jack Grealish's Aston Villa contract after reportedly agreeing personal terms with the attacking midfielder.
As a result of his stellar performances for Villa last season, City boss Pep Guardiola has spoken of his admiration for Grealish - with the Spaniard labelling him as one of the Premier League's best playmakers.
And now with the new season on the horizon, The Athletic claim that the reigning Premier League champions have sensationally agreed personal terms with the 25-year-old, with a bid imminent for the star.
Villa, however, will certainly not want their talisman and captain to leave this summer - but it may be out of their hands.

The Athletic's report claims that Grealish has a release clause in his contract, something City are "fully prepared" to trigger.
But while the exact release figure is not yet known, it is believed that Villa's asking price will be around the £100m mark - a fee that is just back pocket change to the Citizens.
If City were to make a move for the attacking midfielder, it would top the £89m that their rivals Manchester United paid for Paul Pogba in 2016. Talk about putting your money where your mouth is.
The Athletic's report further claims there is a belief that a deal for Grealish can be wrapped up swiftly for the Villa star - with perks on the table that the Midlands club cannot offer.

Without breaking a sweat, City can offer Grealish a more lucrative weekly salary, as well as boasting regular Champions League football and the opportunity to win major silverware every season.
The Midlands outfit are no longer a selling club and have been making quality signings since returning to the Premier League, with more expected this summer.
It appears, however, that they can no longer match Grealish's ambitions, and their skipper could very well be on his way to the Etihad Stadium after he returns from his short holiday. Watch this space.
