Jack Grealish will reportedly decide his future next week before the new season starts - with Manchester City poised to make a bid for the star.

The Aston Villa skipper and England ace is wanted by the reigning Premier League champions in a record £100m deal.

As a result of his stellar performances for Villa last season, City boss Pep Guardiola has spoken of his admiration for Grealish - with the Spaniard labelling him as one of the best playmakers in the league.

The 25-year-old has been abroad in Mykonos after he shone brightly during Euro 2020, helping the Three Lions get to the final in the process.

But now it's back to business for the midfield maestro and he is, according to The Mirror, due back in the UK later this week ahead of returning to pre-season training.

It is believed that Grealish is also planning crunch talks to decide his future with Villa dangling a new lucrative contract to persuade him to stay at the club.

Grealish has previously been candid about his ambitions to play in the Champions League and win silverware.

And contesting for honours with Guardiola is a huge draw and City are more than likely in position to blow Villa's contract offer out of the water.

If City were to make a move for the attacking midfielder, it would top the £89m that their rivals Manchester United paid for Paul Pogba in 2016. Talk about putting your money where your mouth is.
