Celtic and Rangers are reportedly wanted to join a British Super League amid the fall-out of the European Super League debacle.
Earlier this week, Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur were condemned by fans, players, pundits and public figures alike for their actions in the handling of the controversial breakaway competition.
Most had to issue grovelling apologies, while relationships between owners and fanbases appear to have suffered irreparable damage.
Now in what would be another sensational move in football, The Sun claim that a reform of the Premier League could be on the cards with a British Super League.

According to the report, the move - featuring both Celtic and Rangers - would be backed by FIFA, UEFA and even the UK government.
One club source told The Sun: "Whether or not the Super League was going to happen, we all feel that the Premier League has to be changed and improved.
"It is time we opened it up to Rangers and Celtic - that would make sense for everyone."

The report claims it would be "mutually beneficial" with the Old Firm clubs getting a slice of the TV revenues, while their large fan bases would help bring in bigger audiences.

There could also be a reduction of teams to just 18 while also on the table is the option of a top-four play-off, similar to those in rugby league and rugby union.
Here, SPORTbible takes a look at what we know so far...
How would the British Super League work?
While the details are yet to emerge, the plan would see an invitation to Celtic and Rangers to sensationally leave the SPFL and join the Premier League.

Some of the proposers would accept a short-term extension of the Premier League as it is now, while others are already pushing for 18 clubs in the top flight.
But with 14 clubs needed to approve, including those in danger of relegation, there would almost certainly be an uproar about it.
Would the league have a US-style play-off system?
An end-of-season play-off is one of the systems being discussed to increase interest in the competition.

It would be very easy to put into place, with a two-legged semi-final with first against fourth and playing the second leg at home, followed by a probable one-off grand final.
What would happen to promotion from the Championship when changes were made?
Almost certainly there would be fewer up or more down, believed to be over two seasons.
This is what happened when the Premier League was reduced from 22 teams to 20 in 1995 and Middlesbrough and Bolton replaced relegated Crystal Palace, Norwich, Leicester and Ipswich.
Would Rangers and Celtic join the FA Cup and League Cup?
That would be a decision for the FA and SFA to make - but it is likely that they would play in the Scottish cups if they were allowed.
