CM Punk Rushed To Hospital After 'Embarrassing' UFC 225 Loss
CM Punk's MMA career continued its inauspicious start last night as he came off second best in a three-round clash with Mike Jackson.
Punk had to be taken to hospital after the fight for a CT scan on his face, which was badly battered by Jackson en route to a unanimous decision victory.
Punk, who was choked out in the first round of his only previous MMA contest, was upbeat on Twitter after the fight, though he was unable to speak to media directly after the event.
He tweeted: "You win some, you lose some!" he wrote. "I'm 1-1 this week and I'll take it! Thanks to my team, my family, my friends, and THE FANS! Wouldn't be here without any of you. Respect to @TheTruthJackson, thanks for the fight! You only live once, and... I'M ALIVE!"
The '1-1' comment refers to his court battle against WWE doctor Chris Amann, who sued Punk and fellow WWE star Colt Cabana for defamation after the pair made comments on a podcast that were thought to refer to Amann.

The two wrestlers won the case after a judge decided that Amann had not been financially disadvantaged by their criticism of his medical services.
Back in MMA, Punk's coach was upbeat about his charge's performance.
"We Win as a Team and We Lose as a Team! You can't deny my friend @cmpunk doesn't have heart," wrote Duke Roufus, on Instagram. Congratulations to @thetruthjackson and his coaches @krubobperez and @patrickmiletich Thank You Very Much To all the AMAZING #cmpunk Fans for your support! Thank You so much to the #roufusport Nation for All Your SUPPORT "

UFC chief Dana White was less enthusiastic, claiming that Punk should consider giving up MMA, saying: "That's it for his UFC career."
"No, it should be a wrap," White said in response to a media question about whether he would offer Punk a second chance.
"The guy's 39 years old. We gave him two shots, and he had a lot of heart tonight, and I think he should call it a wrap.
"(Punk) got clipped a lot in that fight, and it looked like he was hurt. Michael Jackson I'm not happy with. This guy was acting like a goofball tonight.
"You get this opportunity to fight CM Punk, and you're doing, like, bolo punches to the body on top. Never looked like he was trying to finish the fight ever. Looked like he could have finished the fight a few times. Never tried."
"I don't know what that guy did for a living before we gave him the shot, but whatever it was, he needs to go back and do that again. He's 0-2 as far as I'm concerned."
