Anne Hegerty Agrees To Face Topless Newcastle Fan In Pub Quiz

You go, Anne Hegerty

Remember the other day when Anne Hegerty from The Chase was forced to confirm that she wasn't pictured topless at a Newcastle United match? Of course you do.

Well, now the Newcastle fan who was actually pictured has challenged Hegerty to a quiz, and she's accepted.

Lee Robinson, who was spotted waving his top around his head and generally having a lovely time at the Magpies' win against Leicester City last week, tweeted to ask who would be up for watching a pub quiz, head to head between him and the famous ITV boffin.

Being an excellent sport and all-round good egg, Anne got back in touch with Lee, effectively accepting his challenge.

So, if we're lucky, the showdown will take place later in the year at a pub called The Phoenix Tap in Whitley Bay.

The pub tweeted out: "Who's up for a Chase themed quiz here at The Phoenix Tap? Me [presumably Lee] vs @anne_hegerty."

Anne responded: "Well, bearing in mind that I'm in panto in Middlesbrough at Christmas - contact my agent!"

To which the pub then immediately fired back: "Brilliant... Thanks Anne. Will do and thanks for being such a good sport."

Jesus, if only it were that simple to arrange boxing matches. We'd have Deontay Wilder vs Tyson Fury one week, then the winner of that against Anthony Joshua the week after.

Anyway, Anne has won a lot of fans following her appearance on I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here last year.

Oh, and she's also just funny.

When the photo of the crazed Newcastle fan started doing the rounds, she took to it like a natural.

She had a selection of witty responses like 'my tits are bigger than that' lined up. Fair play to her.

One fan then responded: "I can't unsee this". She immediately hit back with: "YOU can't unsee it? How do you think I feel?"

It's nice that she's not afraid to have a laugh at her own expense, but she's also pretty good at sticking up for her mates, too.

Recently, fellow IACGMOOH star Emily Atack tweeted to say that she had been cast as Blondie singer Debbie Harry, when a troll responded: "Sorry, you're just not pretty enough."

While Atack didn't actually seem that bothered by it - after all, it's just a guy on the internet with an opinion and there are loads of them - Anne hit back in defence of her mate, saying: "what a sad c*** you are, Steve."

Never change, Anne.
