Bizarre, lively and the sort of thing you expect to see at a toddler's birthday party.

No, we're not talking about that shirt Ian Wright chose to wear for ITV's coverage of England's World Cup exit at the hands of Croatia, we're talking about the former striker's live, on-air spat with Roy Keane. Check it out below:

Following England's heartbreaking loss to Croatia after extra time in the semi-finals of the epic footballing tournament that has been Russia 2018, the pair got into a right old ding-dong in the TV studio.

Picking an argument with someone like Roy Keane is a bit like insulting Vinnie Jones' mum, not the best idea.

But Wright, clearly a little emotional after the nerve-shredding defeat to Croatia, was not intimidated by the Irish hardman's reputation.

Former Arsenal striker Wright, who likely had a few run-ins with ex-Manchester United captain Keane during their playing days, wasn't holding back as he bickered with Keane and - egged on by the latter's former team-mate, Gary Neville, even took the piss out of his Irish accent.

Keane suggested that England's 'It's Coming Home' banter meant everyone had got a little carried away before playing Croatia. He reckoned everyone was already planning for the final after England went further than they had ever done in a World Cup since 1990. Wrighty was having none of it.

"Before the game, all the talk was about the final. The final and (finalists) France," said Keane.

"I made the point a few weeks ago, I know a bit tongue-in-cheek but you have to focus on one game and football's coming home.

"I didn't mind you being happy but you got carried away, planning the final and the parades. And I was right. You needed a reality check."

Wright argued in return: "We wasn't talking about the final, we were just having a laugh with you. We were happy! Why can't we get excited?"

Neville found the whole thing piss-funny. Meanwhile, Lee 'Dicko' Dixon - a former team-mate of Wright at Arsenal - just looked on a little bit like a mate who is trying to pretend he doesn't know two pals fighting over what to order at Maccies after a night out.

Keane, never one to let a potential dust-up pass, wasn't letting Wright forget that 1966 world champions England had been sent packing.

He said: "Get excited when they get to the final! It was the semi-final, group matches. Take it one game as it comes.

"It is ridiculous, you are a grown man, you have played this game. You know how hard it is to get to these finals or even get to the World Cup. Relax yourself."

Let's hope Wrighty and Keano are sat next to each other on the plane home from Russia.
