Boy Kicked Out Of Class For Copying Gareth Bale's Hair

Thought the man bun had finally died a death? Sorry pal - wrong.

Gareth Bale is apparently such a style icon that a young lad's been kicked out of school for growing his hair into a similar style.

Macauley Wade, who attends Havelock Academy in Grimsby, was removed from his lessons because of his tied-back hair.

His mum has accused the school of sexism after they labelled the haircut 'extreme'. Apparently the length wasn't the issue, just that it was tied back and not subtle.

Confusingly, the school's uniform policy states: "Long hair must be tied up for PE/practical Science and/or subjects." The Bale bun seems to fit that rule absolutely fine, the family believe.

Theresa Wade has said, "Girls would not be treated in the same fashion - they're trying to ruin his individuality and they are forcing pupils to become robots."

Sixteen-year-old Macauley is currently sitting his GCSEs, but he's been told he can't attend any of the school's revision classes with his top knot.

"I had put my hair in a bobble to stop it falling down into my face when I am doing my exams or studying," he said.

"But when I went into school last Wednesday, I was pulled aside by the deputy head who told me that I have an extreme haircut and would have to go home.

"I ended up sitting in reception for nearly two hours waiting to be collected, and wasn't allowed to go to any of the classes that were on."

He's now worried that the repercussions of his hair are going to have an effect on his exam results.

A spokesman for the school said, "We have a clear uniform policy that all students must adhere to, which includes hair styles.

"These are made clear to all students, as well as parents and carers, when they join our school.

"We met last week with one of our students, who is on study leave, along with his mother to request that he untie his hair to meet our policy.

"Regrettably, they have chosen not to, and we hope that they will reconsider their decision."

What we want to know is why it took the school so long to notice the hair style - it's not like you can sprout an entire man bun overnight, is it?
