Tommy Fury Shows Off Injury After Pulling Out Of Jake Paul Fight

Tommy Fury Shows Off Injury After Pulling Out Of Jake Paul Fight

Fury had to pull out of his huge money fight with YouTuber Jake Paul due to a rib injury, just two weeks before they were due to meet.

Tommy Fury has shown off the x-ray of his broken rib, after it caused him to pull out of his money spinning fight with Jake Paul.

Fury was finally meant to get in the ring with Paul on December 18th, after months of back and forth verbal sparring between the two social media stars.

It was set to be the biggest fight between two relative novices in boxing history but on Monday afternoon it was confirmed that the British boxer was having to pull out of the bout.

In a statement, the 22-year-old revealed that it was due to a broken rib and a chest infection, that had caused problems in his preparation.

Now Fury has taken to social media to show off the pictures of his x-ray, posting on Instagram story.

In the statement on his story, adding to the one he'd put out via Frank Warren, the former Love Island star reiterated that camp had gone well for the first few weeks.

The chest infection had left him struggling in the gym and he said that his body being so weak led to his broken rib when he was caught during sparring.

Whilst Jake's older brother Logan had called Fury a 'p***y' for backing out of the fight, the undefeated boxer was determined that he was looking for a future date to get the fight on.

There was a certain irony to the injury that has left Tommy out of the fight, with his older brother, world heavyweight champion Tyson, recently saying his brother would win even injured.

The 33-year-old said that his younger brother would be the younger Paul even if he had a broken rib or the flu, which with hindsight couldn't have been more wrong.

Paul will now instead face Tyron Woodley, with the two having previously faced in August, when the former UFC champion was the first to go to the judges against Paul.

There was controversy after the fight, with claims that Woodley wasn't allowed to finish the fight with a knockout after he rocked his opponent early in the fight.
