Tommy Fury Reacts To Jake Paul Win, Says He Would Have Knocked Him Out In Round One

Tommy Fury Reacts To Jake Paul Win, Says He Would Have Knocked Him Out In Round One

TNT has reacted to Paul's win against Tyron Woodley.

Tommy Fury believes he would have wrapped up a fight against Jake Paul within one round if he was in the ring on Saturday night.

Fury and Paul were scheduled to meet on December 18th in Tampa, Florida but two weeks before the bout, 'TNT' pulled out due to medical reasons.

The 22-year-old confirmed that a chest infection and broken rib hampered his preparation. In fact, Fury posted pictures of his x-ray on social media to prove his injuries were legitimate.

He also released a statement, saying: "I am absolutely heartbroken that I have been forced to withdraw from my fight with Jake Paul due to a bacterial chest infection and broken rib.

"The beginning of my camp was going so incredibly and I never expected anything to come in my way from a victory on December 18th.

"I can't express how disappointed I am and I really do hope we can get this fight rescheduled in the new year. I want this fight to happen more than anything."

Former UFC champion Tyron Woodley stepped in at late notice and a rematch against Paul was organised, with the latter picking up his fifth professional win after a huge right hand in the sixth.

Days after the fight and Tommy Fury has now reacted to Paul's efforts - and it's fair to say he was not impressed.

"If that was me in the ring on Saturday night, it wouldn't have got out of the opening bell." Fury told Frank Warren's Queensberry Promotions' YouTube channel.

"Let's have it right. Watch that first round and then watch the first round of me, my first fight back coming out of Love Island. Is he any better than that guy? No, he's not.

"The guy I fought coming out of Love Island had 30 professional boxing bouts and was a world kickboxing champion. Be what he is, but that's what I would have done to him, because people who come out and don't do anything, they get put to sleep.

"I'd have been smashing the jabs out there. He doesn't move his head and then fold up with the right hand. He just wouldn't have been there, because it was that bad. It was a bad, terrible fight."

Fury went on to reveal that he is currently going through the lowest point of his life to date.

"I'm not good, to be honest with you," he added. "I've not been on social media since I posted the video online of me obviously coming out and explaining why the fight is off. I've not posted anything on social media. I've not even been on social media, because I'm just not interested in it.

"I've been in probably the lowest point that I've ever been in, in my entire life. I've never felt or experienced anything so low, because imagine having everything that you could ever dreamt for and then having it ripped away from you by no fault of your own. It's a bitter pill to swallow."
