Tyson Fury turned into every child explaining their sporting success on the phone to their dad when he called his father John in the aftermath of his demolition of Deontay Wilder.

On Saturday night Fury put in one of the best performances in a heavyweight title fight in the modern era as hs completely dominated Wilder for six and a bit rounds, until the American's corner threw in the towel.

After the fight the phone call with his dad was captured by iFL TV and it was reminiscent of many kids talking to their dads after a Sunday League goal, as he explained to John Fury exactly what happened.

"Everyone was thinking what's he doing at this high weight, 272 lbs. I was 19 stone 4 lbs tonight, solid," Fury told his dad.

"Listen, I was too strong for him dad. I was 40 lbs heavier than him. He was about 15-and-a-half stone and I was about 19-and-a-half stone.

"Yeah they did a good thing [throwing the towel in]. Listen, I was going to hurt him I was. I busted his ear, blood running down his ear.

"Listen, he was long dead. He didn't recover from the first knock down. I hit him with a left hook to the body and tripled him. The sheer strength of me put him over with a body shot.

"Did it look good on the tele?

"Hey, dad, only the second man in history to win the Ring Magazine belt twice - me and Muhammad Ali. Not bad, eh?

"Go on then dad, I've got a million interviews. I'll call you when I get back to the house. See you in a bit. Bye."

Fans were really loving how the new WBC champ spoke to his dad, with one commenting, "Just listening to how much Tyson looks up to his father and tries to impress him is inspirational even at his age."

Another said, "Still talking to his dad like a kid trying to impress his dad. Class," with a third saying, "This is brilliant, it's like a young lad talking to his dad after sports day. Respect to all Tyson's family."

A fourth beautifully added, "When he told his dad about the ring magazine belt it's ripped my heart out, my dad died when I was 6 and every time I've achieved something I've always wished my dad was here so I could tell him."

In a discussion on BT Sport with David Haye a few weeks ago the elder Fury, John, got his prediction for the fight spot on, saying, "Believe me, Deontay Wilder and his little skinny legs, he's gonna know he's on him after six or seven rounds.

"I would put any money, any money now that Tyson does what he says he's gonna do.

"It could be over early, it is gonna be a knockout, a Tyson Fury knockout."
